About Department

       The department of geology was established in 1983. The institute was the first among all the colleges to start the subject Geology in the newly formed SGB Amravati University. The department is well equipped in all the respect. The department takes a pride for providing the facilities for the PG classes of Amravati University for two academic sessions. The department offers B. Sc. Course at under graduate level with intake of about 40 Students.

The main objective of the department is to prepare the student for higher studies in Geology. Large number of student is currently pursuing post- graduation studies in various institutes/universities.

As per the present trend of updation the department has all the necessary equipments in laboratory. The main focus is on teaching along with overall development of student. The numbers of alumni of the department are currently working as Geologist in various government departments. Special care is taken for completion of academic syllabus and practical course of the student.

About Us

Bharatiya Mahavidyalaya Amravati established in 1963, is the first educational institution under the management of Bharatiya Vidya Mandir. Four founder members of the society, who were lecturers in different colleges on permanent basis, left their job to work together as teacher with a new mission and purpose. The senior most among the group, Shri AnnaSaheb Vaidya was selected as the first Principal of the college.
Starting with the two faculties of Arts & Commerce, the college over the years has earned the reputation as the first college in Amravati to have all the three faculties of Arts, Commerce and Science under one roof. The college is situated in its own campus at Rajapeth on the National Highway, easily accessible from all parts of Amravati city. The college is affiliated to Amravati University and it offers instruction through English and Marathi medium.
