“National Conference on Climate Change and Its Consequences”

Date: 12-13 January 2010

Venue: Conference Hall, BharatiyaMahavidyalaya, Amravati.

The Department of Zoology held a National Conference on Climate Change on 12-13-01-2010. Over 350 participants from different states participated in the conference. Hon. Dr. Kamal Singh, V.C., S.G.A.U. Inaugurated the Conference.


“Teacher’s Training on Online Labs and Other Useful Tools”

Venue: Conference Hall, BharatiyaMahavidyalaya, Amravati.

A teachers training workshop for was organized by the department of Zoology in collaboration with IWSA Amravati branch and CDAC, Navi Mumbai. Mr.SamadhanManore, Senior Technical Officer CDAC trained the trainee teachers for usingO'Lab developed by CDAC. The teachers were given hands on training of web based access, experiments and evaluation components alignedtoCBSC curriculum, interactive simulation. The response was overwhelming. 56 participants from different institutes enthusiastically participated in the workshop. Teaching and non teaching staff of the department and IWSA, Amravati Br. members Dr.ShubhangiIngole, Dr. Rekha Maggirwar, Dr.MithileshRathor, Dr. Vandana Parhate, Dr.SharmishthaKulkarni, Dr.DayaPande, Ms. Vidya Patharkar, Mrs. RachnaSirsat, Dr.SandyaKadu, Dr. Meena Dawande and Dr.AmarapaliWasnik, Dr.ShamalaKatke, Dr. Reena Laharia workedhard for the success of the workshop. Students cooperation for this workshop is highly acknowledged.


“Hepatitis B” Awareness Programme”

Venue: Conference Hall, BharatiyaMahavidyalaya, Amravati.

The increasing cases of liver disorder is really matter of concern. Hepatitis B infection could be one of the causes. It is a viral infection that attacks the liver and can cause both acute and chronic disease. For creating awareness about this infection, a programme was arranged by Department of Zoology in association with BharatiyaMahavidyalaya,NSS unit and IWSA, Amravati branch. On this occasion Dr. Amit Kavimandan, a renowned Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist and Digestive Endoscopist in Amravatiguided the students and staff about causes, symptoms and prevention of Hepatitis B. He stated that many people have no symptoms during the initial infection while some develop a rapid onset of sickness with vomiting, yellowish skin, tiredness, dark urine and abdominal pain. A proper care and vaccination at right age could help to protect form the disease. Pharmaceutical company “Cipla” provided a free blood checkup and concession rate Hepatitis B vaccination coupon to 160 students on this occasion.

One Day Workshop on Construction of Dual Power Supply

One day University Level Students Workshop on “Construction of Dual Power Supply” was organized by Department of Physics, Bharatiya Mahavidyalaya, Amravati on 29th September 2017. About 52 students participated.

Dr. A. G. Vaidya, Principal graced the occasion as the Inaugurator. Mr. N. L. Jadhao & Dr. P. A. Nagpure, Shivaji Science College, Amravati were present as Chief Guests. Dr. V. S. Kalyamwar gave the introductory speech. Anchoring was done by Ku. Raddha Dhok & Mr. Chetan Wankhade expressed the vote of thanks.
